This girl works as the cashier at a drive through restaurant I go to often. I see her most of the time there. I call her love and we chit chat here and there when I go through the drive through. I asked her for her number today and she paused and said “I can’t.” I said that’s okay and proceeded to drive away. 1.) what does that answer mean? 2.) Can I turn this into a joke in a couple weeks and be like, do you trust me enough to give me your number yet? 😂 I wanna hear your opinions!
Yo man, seems like that number request caught her off guard. A few possibilities for the "I can't":
1. She's probably not supposed to give out her personal info at work. Could get her in trouble with her boss.
2. She may be worried about boundaries since you're a regular customer. Doesn't want things to get awkward if it doesn't work out.
3. Might be shy or just not that into you like that yet. Hard to say for sure without knowing her.
As for hitting her up again about it soon, I'd be careful with that approach. Joking could come off pushy or like you're not taking her "no" seriously enough. Plus she might think you'll keep pestering her.
If I were you, I'd lay low for a bit. Keep it friendly when you see her at work like normal. Leave the ball in her court - if she wants to engage more, she will. No need to force it, ya know? Play it cool, maybe she'll come around. But no pressure either way my dude.

She's at work, and may not be single
1. It may not be appropriated since she's on duty.
2. She might not actually be interested in you despite what you think.
3. She's probably already involved with someone.
I wouldn't and don't give out my number to ANY man. There are a million ways to contact someone these days, you don't need a phone number.

It means she doesn't want you to call her.
Don't ask her number more than once.
