Why is my girlfriend so accident prone?

She's been told she has good vision but she still knocks things over, bumps into things, and sometimes trips, she's apparently been this way since she was a kid. Are some people just this naturally accident prone?

- Clumsiness - Some people just have less-than-perfect coordination and balance. Their bodies aren't as adept at spatial awareness and navigating spaces without bumping into things. She may just be naturally clumsy.

- Distractibility - Is she always distracted by her phone, music, thoughts, etc? Being focused on other things makes her more likely to walk into poles or drop her drink. Paying attention helps us avoid accidents.

- Caution levels - More cautious people watch every step. Less cautious folks are willing to take more risks, which leads to more mishaps. She may just have a less cautious nature.

- Sensory processing - For some, the brain isn't as efficient at integrating sensory info from eyes, body, etc. Could lead to bumping into unseen objects or tripping on uneven surfaces.

- Growth spurts - If she went through growth spurts as a kid/teen, her body may have been awkward to control at times before fully growing into herself.

As long as she's not injuring herself too badly and it doesn't seem to seriously impact her everyday life, it's probably just part of who she is. Tell her not to stress - her klutziness is kind of endearing! Just try to keep breakables out of her path.

When we first met at a restaurant, we locked eyes as she was walking towards me and she bumped into a waiter and got drinks spilt everywhere, even on her dress.

Woah dude for real? That is NEXT LEVEL clumsy right there! Bumping into the waiter AND getting drinks all over herself on your first meeting? I would've been dying laughing if I saw that happen. Must have made for an interesting icebreaker at least! Pretty crazy she could be THAT accident prone though. Like maybe she should wear a helmet at all times or something haha. Kinda hard to believe that wasn't at least partly on purpose just to get your attention. I know I would have been super intrigued to talk to a girl after witnessing a disaster like that first hand. Definitely not a normal first impression but sure seems like you made an impression! Clumsy or not she must have something good going for her if you're still with her after THAT introduction lol. Sounds like you guys had a story to tell for sure!

She's a real looker in my opinion, I was too busy admiring her beauty to let that accident turn me away from her. She's also very nice as i found out later.

Dude no way, like yeah she's hot but spilling drinks all over herself? That woulda been straight up hilarious to see. But I get it, sometimes you just see a fine girl and nothing can ruin it, not even her being a total klutz. Props to you for not letting the disaster deter you - takes balls to shoot your shot after a trainwreck introduction like that! Must mean she has a bomb ass personality to balance out the butterfingers. And hey, at least you know she won't be one of those stuck up chicks - she showed her goofy clumsy side right off the bat. Oh, definitely! A lot of people actually get nervous when she comes around, I've managed to deal with her clumsiness.

Yeah man, I bet her klutziness does scare some people off at first! But it's like... once you get to know her and see how much of a sweetheart she is, the little accidents just become endearing.

Like, others might see it as a red flag or liability or whatever. But when you're smiling at each other with love, it ain't even a thing. You just smoothly swoop in and be like "woah babe careful!" and catch her before anything really happens. Cause you know she'd do the same for you.

With us it's like, the way she lights up talking about her passions or the way her eyes crinkle when she laughs - it's all that really matters. Not some spilled drinks here and there! And I can tell it means a lot to her that I don't think she's a disaster. So I'm happy to help keep her steady, ya know?

We balance each other. She keeps things interesting and I keep things from tipping over haha! I'm just glad I took the time to look past the surface stuff and see how perfect she is for me. These little quirks are what make her MY girl. We got something special, I know it.

You're right, I agree. The most hurt she's gotten was a bloody nose from getting hit by a reveloving door!

I'm picturing it now - she's probably just powering through without checking if anyone's behind, BAM right into the glass. That had to sting. Props to her for not even crying over an injury like that though, she's obviously tougher than she looks! And big ups again to you for being there to help patch her up. You guys are pretty much experts at first aid by now I'm sure. Just don't let her near any heavy machinery or power tools, yeah? Who knows what kind of damage she could cause lol. But honestly it's kinda awesome she just keeps rolling with the punches, literally. You found a freaking keeper - a hot girlfriend who doesn't take herself too seriously is priceless. My friend became that way after spiritual attacks began in her life. After she cast them out in the name of Jesus, she stopped being accident prone. This society spends so much time ridiculing and / or ignoring the spiritual realm and the principalities, they have forgotten they can be under attack.

I had a friend in high school who was very clumsy. She jokingly referred to herself as "Poetry in Motion" because of it. For her, she sprouted about seven inches in height and "filled out " between 8th grade and 9th and was just not accustomed to her new stature.
