I'm the one who's always initiating conversations. I haven't texted hom for a week now and there is no text from his side. Should I text to check in?

We met on a site and went on a few dates in our hometown. Both of us study in different cities. When we returned to our respective cities he was responsive for a few days and then suddenly I was the only one to initiate any conversation. Last week I decided not to text him and there was no text from his side as well. Since then there has been no contact. Is it over? Is he ghosting me? Should I let it go or should I text him to check in once?

Hmm that's pretty lame of him, not even hitting you up once in a whole week. I'd say at this point the ball's totally in his court.

You've already done the reaching out more than your fair share, so he should be putting in some effort too if he's actually interested, ya know? Kinda seems like he's lost motivation and you're just not a priority to him anymore unfortunately.

I'd say one more text can't hurt to get some closure, but keep it casual. Something simple like "Hey, just checking in. Things been busy on your end?" And see what he says.

If he doesn't reply or blows you off again, then you got your answer. Some guys are just flaky and can't commit. Not worth wasting any more time waiting around for someone who isn't serious.

Your self-respect is more important. As much as it sucks, might be best to start moving on. Doesn't mean you did anything wrong - his loss! Plenty more fish and all that. Keep your head up high.
