Which dress would you like your date to show up in?

I am not dating anyone, was just looking at dresses and salivating till I can wear them after my leg fracture recovery 🤤

Men’s and women’s sense of fashion differ a bit and I wonder how different they are, so - which dress would you love your date to show up in?

I wore this style on a first date in August. The date went pretty well.

Well... If we're talking dresses, we're most likely talking partially formal dates. Then, the first option would be best as it's the longest and probably the best option in terms of "fit" and "loose" (though some sleeves, like in "detached sleeves", perhaps, would actually be a good option), and thus, it looks the most serious and the least playful.

Now... Ir the idea was to have some fresh-air activities instead, like a walk in a park or by a river, or something of this sort, but still in a somewhat classy attire instead of going for the fully casual feel, the fourth option would be a good one, though it could at least cover the knee, to be honest. At this point it's still a little too short for an informal, but still serious date. Though I guess I would add some points for the sleeves that make it look a little more modest in turn. I guess as long as we set our sights high, it's perfectly fine.

The third option would be an acceptable substitution for the first one, with the same comment about sleeves applying, as well.

The seventh option would feel perfect at a beach, so if it was a beach date, it would be a good idea. Beaches have their own rules and this kind of dresses are still some of the most modest attire found there, so no complaints this time.

Options fifth and sixth are trying to go for the "fitting", modest look, and it would work out if not for the long cuts through them. These are fine semi-formal party dresses, but they are out of place on any kind of date I can imagine.

And as for the second option... If I wanted a toy, I would buy one (and there's no way I will ever do that, anyway). This one is far (and I mean really far) too revealing, even for a beach dress. It's all flirtatious and playful, not a single bit serious. Though I have to admit that "packaging" feel due to the fabric being kind of artistically tied around a few support points is kind of cute and it might work on some unconventional, yet still much more modest dress for any of the occasions I listed above. The support points on the arm would make for a nice substitution for one sleeve in a more formal dress, and in a decent beach dress it would simply add to the cuteness and the innocent look.

From an American middle class perspective, they all look good. The 4th, 7th, and even the 3rd is what I would expect girls I’ve dated to consider as part of their day to day wardrobe. The others are something I’d see at formal events like weddings which I attend like every other year.

The girls I’ve dated have more often opted for things like form fitting jeans and leggings with a shirt they like. Dressing for comfort and practicality, which is something I care more about. A lot of American women work and that’s how they carry themselves. Like my mother and sister will sometimes lounge around in robes all day on their off days when they visit one another.

You can wear whatever you like here if you can afford it. But these are the norms I observed. To be fair, there was a time, before the 60s, when it was normal in America for most women to wear dress ware everywhere.

If you’re upper class, you can constantly go to formal venues if you so choose and wear formal dresses all the time. I have a few relatives who have that option but for the most part, they all dress middle to upper middle class.

Bear in mind, I also don’t wear dresses and am hardly the expert.

1st, 3rd, and 5th in that order. I love cute, feminine, comfortable, practical, understated elegance. It's what I prefer, and it turns me on and gives me chills when other women wear it. If she's uncomfortable looking, I feel it.

Also, long skirts keep the sun off and keep you cool and warm at the same time, so they work for many situations. They are modest in a fun and sexy way. No worries about bending over, spreading legs, or the wind showing everything.

The 3rd dress is in last because it's edging into too much design wise, but the other two dresses are pretty evenly matched.

I really like the sixth one cause it forms to her body, shows off her curves while still being able to see some thigh. But I also like the fourth, but I’m being old school as in if she was home, me getting off work and her greeting me at the door w a plate full of fresh baked cookies lol like a mother type, not to me but our children as we’re leaving the house for the kids soccer game or something. The others are ok but not a big fan.

None, I’d rather her in something causal and comfortable as if it is the first date we would be going out doing something free and active. I wouldn’t want to see that until a commitment has been made as that will be when I take MY girl out to a nice restaurant. She won’t get that at first, she commits then she will get the spoils that come with being mine.

surely would depend where you're heading? a walk along the the river & quiet drink! or evening of clubbing! day at the beach! All completely different & require completely different outfits!
