I was in a bit of a situationship this summer with an amazing guy. We never put a label on it bc we knew it would end when summer was over, but when August came around, I realized I developed stronger feelings. Upon saying goodbye, we left things open, suggesting that if the timing worked out later down the line we could maybe pick things up again.
Since then, we still talk every day, albeit over Snapchat but neither of us are the quickest at texting back so it’s easier for both parties. It’s hard to read how he’s responding though bc it still is essentially over text. I feel like sometimes I try to start conversations more than he does and I get short responses, but he’ll also send me videos out of nowhere detailing his day and swipe up on my story a decent amount. For example, the past two weeks he’s been really chatty and flirty with me but then the past few days he’s been kind of quiet. This could be bc he’s home for break but I’m always worried it’s a sign he’s moved on.
Either way, we FaceTimed a week ago and it was both amazing and awful because I got to talk to him again which was incredible but it made me realize how much I miss him. During this call, I found out I’ll be able to see him again in 2 months, which will be 6 months after saying bye in August. I told him it could possibly happen and he didn’t seem to think that was a bad idea.
So now I’m excited about this but have no idea what’s gonna happen. Will it just be another quick thing and then goodbye again? If we’re still talking as consistently as we are now by February I think it might be worth it to attempt long distance since we’ll have more opportunities to see each other within the coming months. But should I bring this up? He was scared of the idea of long distance before so I don’t know if this is the best idea. However, this has been killing me and I want us to be a real thing. I’m afraid that if I suggest this he’ll freak out and end things completely but I don’t want to lose him either.
