Someone that is selfish and only cares about themselves , someone that tries to control you and tells you you are t allowed to do certain things. but it’s ok for them to do you. Why it’s important to set boundaries in a relationship , whatever boundaries are set from the both of you , you both need to follow those boundaries, if you choose not to , then that makes you a selfish person that only wants things your way , when you have that type of mindset you will never last in a relationship

People can be insecure and it's fine, but if they act it out in maladaptive ways, it can turn toxic. I've found that a lot of toxic behaviours really stem from insecurity, selfishness and abandonment issues.

I would say it's someone controlling, jealous, manipulative. Someone who always tries to bring you down. Someone who doesn't support you, who doesn't care about your needs and someone who constantly offends you.

Dominant how? Controlling how? I ask because most women don’t know what toxic means. They just call everything toxic their man does that they don’t like even if it’s not. Most women want a dominant man, someone who takes control, who leads, plans things, etc. Some women may call a man controlling if he’s not comfortable w her going out to clubs, posting certain pics on IG or OnlyFans.

The word “toxic” gets thrown around a bit too much nowadays.

People who quickly use that term often use it as mental shortcut to not evaluate the nuances of the situation.

Of course there are toxic situations and people. But we judge ourselves by how we feel and judge others on how they act. We excuse our bad decisions based on feelings and blame others for their actions and how it made us feel. Most people don’t want to put in the mental effort to look at everything.
