Will girls approach guys at the bar?

It's not often I'll even go to a bar, but i've found that they will usually approach me when I break away from the friend I'm with. Like on the way to the bathroom or on my way to get another drink. This doesn't happen any other time in life, so is she just totally shnockered or what? Or is it just more acceptable to approach someone in a bar even if it's a female doing the approaching?

I lived in Long Beach for a while and I was amazed by the number of women that would come up and ask me to dance.
I wasn't used to that at all.
It was kind of nice.

For us older people that means a while ago, sorry for the confusion, it's force of habit, sayings you use all the time you forget that not everyone knows what you are talking about.
You might not understand that now, but you will as you get older.
