Is age 24 the best time to look for a keeper (the hidden gem)?

There are so many bfs but few keepers. Any man can make me his girlfriend, claim to be in a ''serious committed relationship'' and date me for as long as he wants to. Big deal. You're still just dating.

The few keepers are the valuable gems several of us are hunting for. They are currently needles in the haystack. They are still in the market (my best friend beat me at it and found hers early last year; she just got engaged in just 7 months of dating) but it's becoming rare.

I don't want to waste time. I'm 24 by now. Is that the right age to search for a keeper?

You are in your prime so absolutely. Looking for mine as well. I actually love the fact that you say Hidden Gem because that is genuinely how I see it to. The last hidden gem I dug up spent a lot of time at her home, I do as well. And unfortunately thats going to be a thing for my type since she just like me would value deeper experiences and deep genuine connection. People like that don't go places they dislike going so its hard to come across them.

definitely a great call, now is your moment so I'm sure you will find him. Compared to girls waiting until they are in their 30s you have a larger dating pool of quality men.

You would be wise to not waste time. There are more keepers out there than you probably think. Sometimes you just don't see them for what they are until it's too late.

How often does this happens... we throwing away our future when the guy was literally in our face?

That's a nice story about that woman's regret. She saw the value in the guy she harshly rejected when it was too late.

If you're a woman yes. If you're a guy no. There's still plenty of good men to be had at 24. Good women still single at 24 is very slim pickings.

yeah I figure out now it's the time before it's too late. I need to start doing the vetting process ASAP. It's very easy to find a relationship with a boyfriend, any man wants a girlfriend but harder to find a marriage-minded man.

I'll agree with that. Because most men don't realize how few good women there are at that age. Guys think a good woman is just about adaptability. And many women will NEVER have that at any age. So guys figure it out. But a lot of them far too late.
Just remember this about your friend it ain't the one who marries first that wins it's couple that stays together and endures that wins.

Then why do you think you would not recognize or keep a “keeper” in the future, even if you weren’t looking for it?

I tend to look for more than just looks though. I already knew from an earlier age the attractive, outgoing type either won't propose or if he does then he'll probably demand his exact equivalent in major, maybe a tall woman too or something else on the his long list and obviously if he's an expert cook, he's not going to follow the ''fall in love with the stomach'' thing.
Maybe I haven't seen a keeper because they might be shy and I guess I would have to approach them. Like mentioned, they are hiding.

I know someone like the one I've mentioned but he demands a girl in the stem field too, has to be 5'7 at least and one that wants to build a business with him. If he finds that girl, he'll stop dating and marry her. Neither me nor my cousin nor others have what he's looking for, lol. He rejected my cousin; she didn't even got past the 2nd date.

Well keep dating and if you come across a guy of those traits don’t feel you have to keep dating just because you’re not ready to settle down. My wife and I didn’t settle for 5 years. We stayed on the rode for awhile, then moved into our 30s.

In my 30's is when our fertility drops. I can't afford to take too much into as someone's girlfriend. If I wait too much, I'm not doing any favors to my biological clock, that's the issue and then it gets harder to find a man that would speed things up.

Well, science is only getting easier on that front. Not saying it won’t cost $$ after 40 in invitro. But seriously I think people rush into marriage for reasons like that and it turns shitty. Imagine being a kid with shitty parents.
