What do believe are the biggest problems with modern dating?

I think there's problems with both genders.
Women I feel a lot are unrealistic and have ridiculously high standards, going for the top top men which leaves the rest of us isolated. But then there's men who then treat women badly and they then stop looking for new men, reducing the pool of available people.

Social media and dating apps have made more singles spend time in their room judging people by face value, so if you're ugly, you're screwed. And most dating apps have now turned into hookup apps.

More people just want a quick fix like a hookup or NSA. For men it's a cheaper alternative to get sex, for women it's getting sex with attractive men.

For me as a below average looking guy, I feel like it's a mountain to climb in order to even be considered. I'm 23 and never had a date, or kissed a girl. And I can't see how I can find something real, because hookups aren't me

People are chronically on their phones or the internet in general. Dating apps algorithm are made to show a small percent of people, For a man He may get 1 match while women are getting 10+ matches at a time. Then you have to worry whether or not if the person messaging you is real, or just trying to give you their onlyfans. Women are encouraged to sleep around and Men are encouraged to be players. If it isn't on an app, People are meeting in bars.

Also to add people are expectating champaign while on a beer wallet. I think people are out of touch with reality in some ways because of influencers.

It's a bit like watching p*rn on the internet and expecting that to be real.
People are seeing these ultra couples and expect that. I think the modern day of dating is gone, marriages will decrease, divorces increase and overall we'll become lonelier as a species

Social expectations and social media trying to shove ‘What you should be doing, and what they should be doing’, and not having realistic expectations. Because some hot influencer has some hot partner, does not mean your average person is entitled to the same. Unrealistic expectations and sense of entitlement.

For Women, Its like play games with him if you want to find out he is serious. For Men it seems to push the narrative to either be a player or find a traditional woman because if she wants to work then she must be a feminist.

None of it seems to be genuine.
Social media brainwashing most teenagers.
Dating apps and such... They are often the cause of non serious relationships, It's just to add another body to the already high body count of many out there.
The increase in long distance relationships.

True. Dating apps capitalize on lonely people. Long distance relationships are one of those things that aren't worth it if no one has the means to even meet.
