Guys, how often have you rejected a woman who has asked you out and why?

This question is inspired by the question I came across recently, it asked what type of man is more likely to cheat.

So, I just want to compare the ratio to which men reject potential sexual partners - to my knowledge of my previous romantic partner’s and my family members’ experience. They had to often reject women, either because they were taken, or because the women were taken, or because they weren’t interested.

I am trying to find out if there are any guys at all who have rejected women, or do they keep them as options even if they are taken?

So yes, I'm one of the few women that will and have asked out guys before-

Rejected EVERY SINGLE TIME. No, I'm not kidding. It usually resulted in me being friendzoned, ghosted, or given the, "I like you, but I don't think it would work out..." or, "You deserve so much better than me..." speech-

Those same guys the NEXT DAY were lamenting on how lonely they were, or why no one wants to date them. One guy had the audacity to ask me to help him look over his dating profile after rejecting me... yeah I'm serious, lol. I can laugh about it now but at the time, I was ticked.

My point being, I don't approach men anymore because it never ends well. If they're interested, I look for clues- better still, he better just come out and tell me because even when people flirt with you, but that doesn't mean they like you. They could just want some attention.

Yeah I get it, guys get rejected too; I empathize with y'all as well. But from my perspective- it seems like men want to be approached, but only if it's by a woman they think is attractive. Meaning I can approach a guy right and ask him out, but if he's not attracted to me, he's going to reject me.

I've never asked a man out. From a traditional family, so we see that sort of thing pretty negatively for ourselves. My husband has turned down at least 2 girls that I know of, both of which I have known for years. One because she is a bitch. The other because she was significantly older, plus he didn't want to have her parents as his parents. She's actually one of our best friends still. Love her and her family, but I can understand not wanting to actually be obligated in the same was as one would be if they are part of the family.

If you mean just flat out someone ask me to have sex with her and I say no, that, to the best of my knowledge, has only happened when I was in a relationship.

If you mean turn down a first date...50/50 maybe. If I REALLY found something unattractive (physically or otherwise) about her then I'll not waste our time.

Currently I'm not dating, but I'll go grab a coffee with a lady that asks me out because long before I've said yes I've explained I'm not dating, but we can be friends. If that is "rejection"... then I guess that's somewhat regular.

I can't remember a woman asking me out and then I turned her down. TBH, women haven't asked me out that often, it's mostly me asking them out. I'm sure there were a few times where I was busy doing something else when she wanted to get together, but that would have been a long time ago.

If a woman is already seeing someone or married, I steer clear!! I have had women offer me in the pasty, and I have said no!!! I am not a home wrecker!!! I do not ruin a new relationship that is still developing. I have in the past encouraged women to stick with the man they had and learn more about the to better understand and meet their needs.

One woman many years ago was looking for a man to have sex with, because her husband tapped out after about an hour and a half straight. She desired to go for 4 hours. We talked for over a year; she was trying to get the lay of the land with me, and wanted me to help her cure her 4-hour itch. I refused, and explained why. I also made a suggestion of how she can get her husband to where he would give her what she wants. What I told her worked, and she no longer needed another man to fulfill her needs.

I refused another woman, because she conveniently left out something from her past that was crucial to know. Had she been upfront with me, and explained how that was in her past, and she wished she had not done it; then I would have been more willing to pursue her. What was so bad? After doing some checking around, I found out that she had been a porn star in some fairly hyper, raunchy porn.

The lesson here; ask questions, and the woman in question needs to be honest. If she is honest, then she will have a greater chance of getting a man to fill that need she may have. Unless she is already seeing someone or married. Then it is s a hard NO.

the times in which I was single, well... Most of the times I very politely explained I was not feeling the same OR if I was intrigued or interested, then yes... this how it started with most of my relationships... they approached me first

Only once I have accepted it, since the others I was not into. It was either we had zero chemistry or I didn't think they were attractive.

However, the whole process for rejecting is annoying if they build up to it for a while due to being shy, as you have to deal with awkward moments due to trying to give signs that you are not interested. Also, I somehow end up saying the worst things possible unintentionally when rejecting them, then cringe about it later realizing it was mean or weird.

Anyway, there's my vent about a very trivial struggle of mine. 😂

On your point about being approached while taken, it is absolutely true that girls do this KNOWING that the guy is taken. It’s not even so much approaching as it is “probing”. I never figured what was going through a girl’s head when she started to tell me which girls in our class liked anal sex, I just remember not responding to it and thinking “Why are you telling me this? This would probably infuriate my girlfriend.” So there definitely is a marked difference in women’s comfort when seeing taken guys as “safe”. After I broke up with my girlfriend, the other girl still viewed me as “safe” because I didn’t act on or further indulge those stories. It was definitely interesting though. Women can orbit m, too, though more subtle.

A few times, actually. One wouldn't talk, she was impossible to have a conversation about anything with. Another one had screwed my brother. Another one was my good friend's ex, and I didn't know how much of her desire was attraction for me versus getting revenge on him. Another 2 girls were tweakers (on meth). I haven’t counted, so I don’t know how many, but usually the reason is lack of physical attraction. In some cases I might find her physically attractive but I find her attitude toward relationships off-putting, or she seems to be mentally unstable.

I rejected quite a lot and the reasons were: they were liberal/democrats, had tattoos, had an unattractive face, did drugs (usually smoked weed), drank alcohol often, kids from previous relationships, past 30, a bad unacceptable past, and one was married with kids already.

"How often" isn't exactly how I'd phrase it. It has only happened a couple of times.
But on the rare occasion when girls outside my personal strike zone tried their luck with me, I made them lose interest pretty quickly. Same with that one guy as well.

I've been asked out 3 times. Twice by girls, and once by a guy. A lesbian wanted to sext with me, but stopped before it started when she found out I was a guy (that was on Reddit where gender isn't revealed).
I rejected all of them because I was in a relationship and I don't find guys attractive. Only one girl took it poorly. Considering that she asked on our first conversation, I am not sure what she thought we had.

I've only been asked out by one woman, and I politely rejected her, for two reasons. First, she was a coworker, and that can be trouble. But more importantly, she had always made it well known she was a proud feminist, and I wanted nothing to do with a feminist. She was a completely bitch to me after that, but fuck her.
