Why would someone you know follow you back on social media but ignore your DMs?

Some people literally don’t check their DMs. I always have at least 10 unread messages.

I get that but this person in particular responded to the first message but ignored the 2nd one

I have no way to tell if they saw it but this person is always active so I'm almost certain they saw it

There's a chance they're active but not checking their messages. I do that all the time.

Got it that makes a lot of sense. Do you think it is a bad thing to ask someone if it's okay to contact them?

I would only ask that if I really needed to talk to them. If they're just a random person I wouldn't bother.

I only asked because I haven't spoken to this person in a while so I didn't just want to randomly contact them.

Some people have lives that don't revolve around social media.

What if their life revolves around social media and they post often?

Not sure, buts its happened to me too. And also on this site as well.
