Would you unfollow someone on social media if they don't reply?

So this girl, who I have no interest in other than the fact that she is in my college, replies to my Instagram story where I shared a video. I asked her "How's she?" In Hindi to which she replies that the video in the story is good. I didn't understand it at first but then I gave it a thought and realised that it might have been an interpretation error. Because in Hindi, the way we form sentences change! So I texted her saying that I was asking "how's she?" Not "How's the video?" And she replied "Ah😅" , "I am good, wbu?" I said that I am good and asked her "How's the holidays going on?" This text was yesterday morning and she hasn't replied, but she posted 3 stories and one post. Now it's today evening and I unfollowed her. I just don't understand why the hell would someone not reply? And would you unfollow if someone doesn't reply?

It's not left on read. In Instagram, it shows when the text is seen by the user and if it's not seen or opened by the user then a red dot appears on the Instagram of the other person account who hasn't seen the text reminding him/her that there are pending texts.

I don't follow people in whose content I am not genuenly interested in the first place, if I am it wouldn't make me unfollow them, especially in a situation like this where you are trying to unnecesarily prolong a conversation she is not interested in having.

No, that's not what I meant, I follow people if I actually want to see their content on my feed regardless if they follow me, and I do not follow back just because they followed me. So it's the opposite of you.

If I like their content, I follow them regardless of them following me back or not. But if I know a person who's an acquaintance and he/she follows me, I follow back to give friendship a chance. Because I believe it's good to be kind and friendly. I believe that strangers are friends waiting to happen. But if someone like that doesn't text, I feel there's no friendship and hence I unfollow!
