At work, on campus, the gym, anywhere. Unless forced to ask for help, I do not approach at ALL. I'm terrified of freaking them out. I admit I do have romantic interests sometimes, but even when I don't, I avoid approaching.
I do not what the solution to this problem is. It isn't girls' problem because they're constantly approached and by creepy guys sometimes too.
Women aren't just always constantly creeped out. That's a misconception. All you have to do is genuinely approach, inteiduce yourself. Say something like "I saw you and I thought you were cute, I was just wondering if you wanted to go out for coffee or dinner sometime" that's it. She'll either say ok sounds good. Or she'll say not interested.
We are only creeped out when men are being legitimately creepy. There's nothing creepy about what I typed above tho. Just do that and it's not creepy.
It's how you approach that matters. If you just walk up and tell them how attractive they are and immediately ask for their number you'll freak them out. But it's perfectly safe to start a normal conversation.
