Opinions on the "Will you be my Girlfriend/Boyfriend" conversation over the phone?

I personally feel like that conversation should be in person, and I know most would also agree. I'm talking to a woman right now and I want her to be my girlfriend, and I know she would say yes. We live hours apart and we probably will not be able to see each other for a couple weeks. Should I still wait to ask her in person, or just ask her over the phone?

Damn, that sounds like jr. High talk, "Will you be my boyfriend/girlfriend?" Today it seems to be "Hey, let's shack up together." Usually when you know something is going good, and the other feels the same, you don't have to ask. Both will probably stop dating other people and see where this one goes. During one of these dates, you might agree on "Exclusivity" with the other. THEN you are boyfriend and girlfriend.

It’s always better in person, no matter the outcome. Asking over the phone just seems weak/unsturdy In my opinion

Conduct relationships in person, if you find that the person you're telling this in person doesn't like it done in person, how are you gonna have an intimate relationship with them in the emotional sense on a day to day basis? Every question you may ever ask about 'phone versus real life', punt for real life! :)

When you know, you know. If I'm on the phone when I realize I wanted to be boyfriend/girlfriend I would say it then and there. It's never happened but when I asked my wife to marry me it was without a ring and a few seconds after I realized I wanted her to be my wife. She had a ring a week later

Depends on the situation and your locations, but if you’re nearby….. I’d say that’s a conversation that would be pretty special to have in person👍
