How long do you chat to your boyfriend/Girlfriend on the phone?

I've been with my boyfriend for over a month, and things are going pretty well, however lately I've been wondering about how long we speak on the phone for. When he rings for a chat, the longest is normally about 20 minutes. Normally, its me doing all the talking, and I do tend to ramble. I feel this bores him, and I feel stupid for rambling on.

Today he rang me after finishing work, and I kept the conversation and my answers plain and simple. All I spoke to him about was my evening, my day and the fact I went to the doctors. However, the phone-call only lasted 4 minutes.

He's visiting me tomorrow, and I really want to ask him how he feels its going between us, but I don't know how to approach it.

I don't get to talk to my boyfriend very often on the phone (which is my fault), but when I do it lasts from 30 min to an hour (which is also my fault, if it was up to us we'd talk for several hours). I'm a rambler too, which I also thought annoyed him, but he's reassured me so many times that he finds it cute/loves it that I don't worry about that anymore.

You don't have to talk to him forever on the phone, and you shouldn't expect him to chat away like you do. Ask him if he minds your rambling (not in a self conscious way though), if he doesn't mind talk to him as much as you want. Some people just aren't good on the phone. I'm one of them actually.. though not with my boyfriend.

Expecting your partner to talk every single day for a certain amount of time can be taxing. Maybe just try a few times a week and see if you get a healthier chat.

Don't worry too much about the length of the phone conversations! The length will definitely be shorter the more you call each other. I mean, there's only so much to talk about! My phone calls usually last for an hour++, but that's because I make the call around three times a week at most.

You could bring it up when he sees you in person. I suck with dialogue, but mention that you hope you don't bore him over the phone, but add a playful element to it. You could try calling every other day instead, as well! Also, main part is that if you both enjoy each others' company in person, I wouldn't worry all too much about it!

it's better to ask that question in person rather than over the phone...as for phone conversations, everyday contact is normal...as to the length, it doesn't matter as long as it happens daily, but phone conversations can be anywhere from 10 minutes to as long as 5 hours in one call...i average about a 1000 minutes a week on my phone conversations with my girlfriend, but we talk everyday since it's what she wants...unlimited minute plans are actually good in this case LOL
