What is your experience with dating an intimidating woman?

how did you end up dating her coz most people go for cute friendly types

I didn't like it very much since she was so hard to read. Over dinner, I ended up chatting way more than usual since I was getting kind of nervous given how serious she looked the her time (didn't smile once). Also all her answers to my questions were sort of conversation stoppers: just very simple answers to my questions without much room to flow and she didn't ask me any questions in response.

Then we went to Karaoke and I was hoping she might start to smile and laugh a bit if I sang goofy Karaoke songs. But no smile or laugh the whole time, and she sang very serious songs on her turn without smiling at all.

So I was starting to think this whole date is a dud but in the middle of singing a funny song, she grabbed me and started kissing me which caught me by surprise. We kissed back but then I had to stop her and tell her I'm just not feeling the date and apologized.

As for how I came to date her in the first place, I met her while totally drunk in a night club and we danced together and she gave me her number. She seemed friendlier when I met her in the night club but we were both really drunk.

She was very pretty and seemed like an overall nice person despite being so poker-faced. Also she was very fit with washboard abs; the little conversation I got out of her over dinner was mostly related to her fitness goals. In the night club, my memory was so blurry but we were really dancing closely and I thought I saw her smiling a little bit at least. Still, I just found it way too difficult to connect to her over the date so I wished her a good night and we went our separate ways.

@catsmemoir It's a tricky one since she seemed like a decent overall person. I forgot what her job was (this was almost 20 years ago) but it was something white-collar. She wasn't one of those types who lives to party or anything like that (that one time in the nightclub with her girlfriends seemed like a rare occasion for her). Still, at least her communication style is so incompatible from mine. I like women who smile and laugh all the time and give off a very warm and friendly vibe.

@catsmemoir Possibly so. 😅 A lot of my cues to make moves though is when a woman shows receptiveness. For example, she might touch my hand, I might touch her knee, she might smile, I might move my hand up towards her thigh, etc. She didn't give me those cues I normally use to seduce women.

I'm guessing since your first interaction (at the club) was already very physical she was expecting that to continue. Then probably wondered "why is he just talking my head off?". Don't blame yourself. You were young.

@catsmemoir Cheers! 🍻I generally got a lot of bad dates from clubs and probably for that reason. I got really bold from the liquid courage and might not have paid as much attention. I try to be a gentleman and make sure everything I did was well-received, but I might have lost some of that when I was drunk.
