I think most do... if they can trust their partner not to drop them.
Not only the "over the threshold" carry, but riding on your shoulders, piggy back rides, throw them over your shoulder, grasp their waist and lift them over your head,

spinning them around while dancing and, my favorite, lifting them up and down during standing carry sex.

I'm 6'2". I could do some of that stuff with some of my girlfriends. But the only one I could do all that stuff to was 5'1" and no more than 125 lbs max.

My wife really seems to enjoy it. She's very into romantic things though like candlelit dinners. So she gets very happy when I create those kinds of moments which can include carrying her in bridal position as well as dancing slowly together.
