Do girls like it when guys pick them up from their house on the first date, or do they feel uncomfortable with it?

We are going on a date and our destination is quite far from our houses. So, what would she think if I offered to pick her up from her house for the first date?

If I trust him then I don't mind him visiting my home and taking me in his car to the restaurant or coffee shop. But if I meet him at a place where I don't know if I can trust him such as a church in a violent neighbourhood, or a secular hobbies club where the character of a person is not guaranteed, then I would not want him to pick me up. Even being picked up by somebody I trust is not always a good thing, cause it makes me feel like I'm indebted and should compensate with food gifts.

Just offer. If she feels comfortable with you she will probably appreciate it, and take you up on it.

If she says no, ok that's fine I'll meet you there then. At least if you offer you cover all your bases. Some ladies out there expect that shit. You pick the place, the time, pick them up, and pay. That's the deal for like 80% of women, and even if they don't think they want it they appreciate it.

I'd say 50% will let you pick them up, 49% will not feel comfortable especially for a first date, 1% will be offended by the offer, or make it weird. Just cancel the date, that one is crazy.

I always suggest meeting her somewhere, she doesn't know me and I don't really know her, so its best we arrive in a public place for both our safety.

Besides if things take a turn for the worse, you still have to drive her home which can be really uncomfortable.

Depends on who it is. Is this like a Tinder match and we’re meeting for the first time? If so, then hell no. If this is someone I’ve met in person, then I wouldn’t mind if they came to pick me up. I also wouldn’t mind just meeting them there, but picking me up would leave a better impression given the fact that I grew up with a gentleman as a father and we have a very good relationship (my dad always pays and drives whenever we go somewhere, holds the door open for me/my mom/my siblings, keeps an extra jacket most of the time just in case one of us needs an extra one, etc.. Needless to say, he was an all around old fashioned gentleman).

I did that when I was in highschool. Picked her up at her house. Her parents were super impressed by that and so at least for one night I felt like a boss cause of that.

As adults now, I'd still do it the old fashoned way. Provided we already knew eachother beforehand. If it was a first meeting we'd most likely mutually meet up somewhere. Somewhere public.

You can offer, if she's comfortable with it or not she can always turn it down. I personally would never get in the car with a guy i dont know very well. I wouldn't want to put myself in that spot and he could easily abandon me on the side of the road too if he's a real piece of work. I don't like being at the mercy of other people. I prefer to always be alert and have a way of getting away when I can or need to.

It's pretty common and I think as long as you're asking and not being too persistent or pushy it would be fine. Nothing wrong with putting it out there. If she's uncomfortable with it and says no or seems reluctant, just put the idea away. But a lot of people get picked up for dates.
