I just got into a big argument with my girlfriend because she said she missed me and I didn’t say it back

I don’t feel I should have to as long as we’ve been together she should just know right?

I don’t feel I should have to as long as we’ve been together she should just know right?
Here in Japan, we actually don't say "I love you" very often at all. We prefer a "show, don't tell" kind of approach. So my wife and I don't say things like "I love you" and "I miss you" to each other.
I really think that's better since it's too easy to say "I love you", "I miss you", all the time without doing anything to show it. Here we're forced to show it more since we don't say such things.
That's just my two cents though and one coming from a very different cultural perspective. But I don't see why she would need you to say that if you show it on a regular basis.
That’s exactly how I feel about it
I had to get used to saying such things here and there when I dated in the US. I do think if we're going to say things like, "I love you", and "I miss you", that it at least makes it much more special if we don't say it to each other every single day.
If I compare it to a compliment, say a teacher tells us, "Wow, that's so amazing!" every single time we do anything even average. That no longer starts to seem special or earned and we can easily take such compliments for granted. Meanwhile, if she only says that when we go above and beyond and do an exceptional job, then that feels special and earned.
So I think if we are going to say such things, it helps to be a bit sparing about it and not say it all the time if only to keep it special and something that can't be taken for granted. Maybe you can share your thoughts about this with her after reminding her that you do miss her but don't want to cheapen it by saying it all the time.
if it's been 15 minutes... just say it
I’m someone who means what I say and say what I mean
I can’t say something just to say it because it’s not genuine
a relationship is not something you should be selfish with
it's not just about yourself and your needs
You’re right
Yes, it’s nice to hear it. Just because you know it already, doesn’t mean you don’t want to hear it too. No different than when you’ve accomplished something.. you know that you’ve done a good thing, but it’s still nice to hear a “congratulations” or “good job” from someone.
Women are insane
Go date a dude then. Lol.
Lmaoo
I honestly would if I were sexually attracted to men
