Not as such, you are either confident at that time or not. People are confident most often in their comfort zone, something they do a lot and have no problems with. You can have someone really confident in nearly everything, put put him on a platform / stage and have them talk to 200 people on a subject they do not understand and you can see them fall to bits. Positive affirmation is more of a support thing to the person.
