So what is the goal here? What are you wanting out of this? If the point is to become more serious then take those steps. Start hanging out in person so you can create memories and therefore have more things to talk about. Trying to keep a text conversation alive will fizzle out and get boring quick, it shouldn’t be your main form of communication for any real length of time.

We have met. People text. That’s normal. We don’t go on a date everyday , so we text when in between seeing each other. I didn’t think I had to add all of that into the question because it is a yes or no question

Why are you being so defensive? Of course people text, I’m referring to how much of your conversation happens there, it’s to the point that you’ve run out of topics and get bored. You said this yourself. My only point here is that the conversation should be done in person more, on dates and creating memories. Nothing offensive about that.
