Ay yoooo huh? That's weird. I'd say that's definitely like a red flag or something. I mean ya complimented him to start a convo and all he says back is "thanks sweetie"? Bruh come on, put in a little more effort than that.

I'd be like damn son, you ain't gonna say anything else? Like he could've at least asked you a question or said something back about you too. Just sayin thanks is so lame. Makes it seem like he don't really care to chat or get to know ya.

If it were me, I probs wouldn't even reply to that weak response. He ain't showing any interest really. Save your time for somebody who's actually hyped to talk to ya. Dont stress on these dead convos ya feel? Plenty other guys out there who'll give ya more than one word answers.

Giving a compliment to start a conversation is really odd. If you compliment someone then they will respond with thanks so that is natural
