Should I approach a girl if she is out of my league?

I have a reputation of an intelligent guy, academically successful, showing career potential, but a bit nerdy, I'm not very tall. I go to the gym and my body is lean and fit, but I would say my face is not very good looking (my beard is not very thick, but I look too young without it, I have asymmetrical features). I'm fun to be around and people think I'm funny, but I'm also quite shy when I'm not comfortable around someone. This girl is very beautiful and intelligent and I guess she could definitely have a better looking boyfriend than me, who has my other qualities. I'm a bit reluctant with approaching these girls because I know my face is not attractive.
