People give me and my girlfriend looks (17, M) and (18, F) because she looks like 13 and me 18? How to navigate this?

We do get dirty looks in public and people ask sometimes how old we are and then they feel bad. I am often mistaken for being her big brother even if we hold hands in public. If she sits on my lap in the train station when there is no more room, people will make comments and say, “Why is this young teenager on your lap?” She is my precious girlfriend and she is 18 a few months older than me. They looked shocked. She is adorable as she is.

Well. I think they mean well and thinfs happen sometimes that are predatory behavior. It can be annoying but just be glad they’re concerned. There is a LOT of people who see weird things and NEVER say anything. Someone can be crying for help and people walk by as if nothing even happened
