I’m not afraid of the rejection. It’s just if she didn’t tell me it was okay to text her especially if we had issues in the past I would be overstepping boundaries.

I don’t think you’re overstepping unless you spam her with texts / calls. A text or a call is simply an invitation to conversation. The reason it’s not overstepping is because she doesn’t have to answer if she doesn’t want to.
