This is what I’ve noticed about women:

• They have a harder time separating their “feelings” about something that is physically unattractive about a man vs. the reality of if he did something wrong or right. This leads to them unfairly labeling a nice but unattractive man “creepy” if they don’t know him well. Not all women do this but a lot.
• They think more about what their kids will look like if she got a pregnant. So an older yet handsome man will still pass off good genes to their kids. This one advantage older men have over older women.
• They care more about “optics” of how they will look in public around the man. Not to say men can have ego problems here. They do. But women worry about
• They can ironically fall in love with an average looking guy (not ugly but average) if he knows how to push her buttons. And of course if he’s rich and famous.

Anyway it all comes down to disarming women with their initial “emotional” judgment. Average looking guys are held to a much higher standard to be funny and confident. It can be done but it’s hard. Very hard.

It might be interesting for you to make a fake woman profile and see what things look like from the other side. Only about one in every 20 guys I ever see on there has more than three words in his bio, or a cat emoji, and even the rare time that they do, it doesn't tell me anything of meaning about him. I don't know if women are the same on there, but the point is, if I see some average unshaven dude nursing a beer and 'match wth me 2 find out mor' as his bio, I don't know what more I'm supposed to take from that except his looks.

I've also read that. But it seems to me that dating apps are set up that way. The only way you can initially evaluate a person is by their photos. I've read that a lot of dating apps contain 80% men and 20% women (after you take away all the fake profiles and scammers and whores), so women are flooded with emails from men. Judging a man by his photos is the easiest way for them.
