Guys, my boyfriend doesn’t like my Instagram stories or photos even when he’s in them… is this a bad sign?

I posted some prom pictures of me and my boyfriend this morning, but even though I tagged him, he still hasn’t liked the post. At this point, even his friends have liked it, but he hasn’t. He does t post on Instagram hardly ever and never likes anyone else’s posts, so I’m not jealous or anything, just a little insecure. When you tag someone in an Instagram post, it sends them a DM informing them that they were tagged, and the message was left on “seen.” This means that he saw the pictures, but intentionally decided not to like them. Why do guys do this?

I dared him during a game of over-the-phone truth or dare to like all of my instagram posts, and he made a joke about me just wanting more likes, so I explained the situation to him in the context that my friends thought it was weird that he didn’t like any of my photos. Turns out, he doesn’t like ANYONE’S photos unless it’s a mis-click, which adds up. I was just being overdramatic for no good reason :)

I don’t think really anything of this… You said he hardly interacts with anyone on Instagram. If you really are concerned about it why don’t you just ask him about it? I don’t think it’s really anything to be honest with you.

But if you’re wanting to know the reason. Ask…. If you wished he would do something. Tell him what you would like. He can’t read your mind and you can’t read his. It’s why you should communicate things.

Not everyone likes their picture and personal info posted fir all to see. For example, I dislike Instagram, don't even have an account.

You're young... and will eventually learn this... Just because you like something, doesn't mean everyone else does.

I don't do social media. I never have. It's not just a generational thing. The men I hang out with who are 20+ years younger than me also do not do social media. You can tag all day long, but I'm still not interested in it because I've got real priorities to attend to. I think it speaks very highly of your boyfriend that he's not getting addicted to the perpetual falsehoods of social media. Hopefully it's because he's getting an early start on focusing on building his empire.

No it´s not a bad sign if he hasn´t liked a photo you posted today because he´s not an active instagram user. The reason could be that he saw the notification or the pic waking up but because he didn´t like it right away he forgot about it later. I wouldn´t think anything bad about until you see him distancing himself from you.

No. Social media isn’t a big thing to some people. I dumped mine some time ago and am so glad I did. Life is just better without the distraction & drama.

Depends on how active he is on Instagram. The more active the worse the situation. However, the way you describe it, I would say it is a 2/10 concerning.
