I just don’t understand why it matters so much and I’m not sure how to feel about it either
+1 yThere might be several factors:
In many social circles, being in a relationship, especially with someone who is admired or considered attractive, can be seen as a status symbol. By showing off their girlfriend, a man might be seeking validation or approval from his surroudning. In other cases, it may be related to feelings of possessiveness or insecurity. The man might feel the need to prove that he is desirable or to discourage others from approaching his partner.
I and surely many other men out there are super proud to be with their girlfriend and want to share their happiness with others. Now, I am married, and the same goes with my wife.

Back in the real world, this is something that is most commonly done by guys who are shallow and very image-conscience, which is NOT most men. Most men don't care about "social points" so they have no need or desire to parade their girl around trying to win social points for themselves. Most men don't live for the approval of the mob.20 Reply

+1 yWomen love to be shown off unless it's a guy she doesn't respect AKA the photo above.

+1 yI think people do this because it’s somehow validating or satisfying to have your woman (or man) seem like a good catch. It’s a measure of success and indicates your own worth to some extent. While I think men & women do it equally, I do think that - since society judges a woman on her looks much, much, more than a man - the dynamic between showing off your woman is a bit different than a woman showing off her man.
One perspective I once heard was a guy I used to work with, who was an attractive man that drew female attention, was that it showed he was proud of the girl he was with, made her a constant presence in his life, they would see how they interacted together, and if she was beautiful it just further showed other girls that he wasn’t going to stray because they simply couldn’t capture his heart the way she did.10 Reply
+1 yI never got into that. I guess it's more of a materialistic view. Actually when I was much younger, I wanted to do the opposite and keep her hidden and all to myself. I grew out of that phase quickly enough but still never saw the point of trying to show her off like a prize.
I think it's because I always saw these things about compatibility rather than leagues. If we don't think in terms of leagues, there's nothing to show off except how compatible we are, and sometimes I do that by talking about how great my wife and I are for each other. But that's showing off our relationship and not showing off my wife.

There's nothing a guy loves more than surreptitiously looking over his shoulder, and seeing five or six other guys openly staring at the mouth wateringly gorgeous, shapely young nymph, knowing that in just a couple of hours, he -- not they -- will shudder in ecstasy as he blasts stream after glorious stream of his hot, sticky semen into her warm, sweet pussy, while she wriggles and gushes on his lucky, privileged penis, and the two of them explode in their simultaneous climax.

@KingBlackCanarsie is my comment okay, or do I need to modify it, make it less profane? Thanks
+1 yIt’s the same thing as showing off your car, boat, house or anything else you own. It’s human nature, I read someone else say it’s Ego. That’s 100% true. And you guys that say you don’t show off your girlfriends probably would if you dated someone that everyone you know would be envious of, or you already have. I’m sure they have also had something in their lives they just couldn’t wait for “the guys” to see. It’s perfectly natural. We all seek the approval of others and envy is the ultimate firm of approval.

+1 yIt makes her feel good, and I imagine she might wonder if he's trying to appear single, so it could depend on the person. For me, I have never cared for doing it, since l am a very private person on social media, but occasionally I'll do it for that reason.
00 Reply It's their insecurity / immaturity and the need to impress their buddies that makes men do that. It's the same thing that men do with their other possessions / trophies, because if he's doing that with you (showing you off) then that's all you are to him, a possession / trophy of something desired by other men that he's acquired. Dump him and keep looking for a guy with enough maturity and common sense to treat you like a lady and not a fucktoy / arm candy.

+1 ynot sure as that does not cross cultures does it? maybe for others to know this person is theirs and makes them feel good about themselves? I know one fella bragged about how well he did catching his wife.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI don’t know of any men who do that including myself. Some men may just get off on it by rubbing it in other dudes’ faces that he has the hottest chick. Maybe he’s turned on by other men lusting over his girl. Could be he was a twerp growing up, maybe dudes made fun of him now he’s saying look at me. Look at me the kid you all picked on w the hottest chick. Sort of bragging w out verbally bragging. But like I said I don’t know of any men who do that.

If you're too insecure for that then I don't know what to say, you should probably see a therapist.

Just like showing off a pricey car.

00 Reply 1.6K opinions shared on Dating topic. Ego…. There is no other reason why some guy would put a girl on a pedestal and want other guys to look at her as a part of him. She is all about his ego, that is all.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yProbably for the same reason it's so important for women to show off that they got a man. As though the assumption is that if they don't they can't get/keep one.
