Why do men like putting their arm around your shoulder?

It's the way to pull her close and snuggle when we are walking or sitting. I love it when her shoulder is beneath my arm pit and her body is pressed against mine.

It's also kind of a protective gesture that makes a female partner feel nurtured, safe and secure.

I like that fact that women are soft, cute and smaller. So putting my arm around her makes me feel big and masculine if she leans into me and looks up at me. Usually, she'll respond by putting her arm around my waist.

I wouldn't put my arm around a woman's shoulder and forcefully pull her close unless I tested the waters first. If she stiffened or didn't automatically lean in when I gently put my arm around her, I would release her.

Call me creepy all you want, but that's the truth. I of course, wouldn't go and put my arm around a woman I just met, they need to watch out for rapists and damned murderers, I get that.

If I pushed boundaries that far, that would scare them. But once we know eachother we'll, and she's shown that she likes me as well, putting my arm around her shoulders, holding her hand, or locking arms together is very comforting, knowing she's right there for me to keep me company🥰

I don't know I usually only had guy friends do that to me. They just like to put their arm like resting on my shoulder, my head or when we were walking when we hung out it's just like a friendly gesture nothing serious. It's cuz they are comfortable with you.

Again , I would always do this pretty much immediately , often to test the reaction , if the reaction is to the negative , I will often just leave things there , I had this recently actually ( Its an Asian thing sometimes China being vastly different to Thai / Viet , plus Phills likes a different hold too ) , and I would have left it there but she has continued to message , so we will see what happens.

Certainly in Australia , its simply what one would do.

It is a fairly natural way to hold a woman. Both shoulders and hips are the natural steering wheels of a woman's body. So it makes sense you have your arm around either if you plan to steer.
