So I'm dating this guy, we were talking on the phone and he asked me to send him a photo, I told him I'm in my PJs so I'll send him a photo later and he said

"Look, when I ask you for a photo I'm not looking at your aesthetic, I just want to see you... You're not ugly, all my friends I've sent your photo to, said you're cute"

Am I overthinking it? I just felt a little bit awkward as he didn't directly said I am attractive, also why would he even mention what did his friends say. I was not saying I'm ugly...

Alright I'll be that guy. Dear if a man says you are not ugly. He means precisely what he said. If you want further clarification you need to ask. Him saying you are not ugly is him reassuring you that you aren't ugly if that is why you aren't sending the photo. If you want to know if he thinks you are pretty or beautiful or sexy or gorgeous or cute or a bombshell or hot or any of the other words that can be used to describe a woman's beauty ask. He'll tell you.

Beauty is important to most of us guys’ so your boyfriend wouldn’t be dating you, if he thought you were ugly and he wouldn’t be showing you off to his friends if he thought you were ugly , so no matter what, he finds you to be beautiful, you could wear a trash bag and he would still consider you beautiful, , that’s how most of us guys’ are , especially a girl that values us and appreciates us , we find her to be the most beautiful girl to our eyes.

He could have chose better words but he's saying like send me a photo already. You aren't ugly (meaning no matter what you don't need to do anything to look pretty). If he's your age that's prob it. You are prob overthinking this.

If he thought you were ugly he wouldn't ask for your photo and wouldn't want to date you. And also looks aren't everything. If he's typically nice to you... you can chalk this up to being a stupid boy and using the wrong words.
