Would a guy turn down hanging with the guys or social events to meet strangers at least at the beginning of dating a new girl?

I know it's not good to expect guys to always turn down other social opportunities after you have been together for a long time. But how do guys generally act in the beginning of dating? Aren't they usually so excited about the girl that they postpone hanging out with other friends and strangers if it means being able to go on a first or second date with a girl sooner rather than a week later?

personally, no. I'd rather go hang with my buds. Dating itself is almost a dead dynamic in favor of the quick hookup.

Men are now just socializing with their bros either publicly or online and only seeking the occasional hookup.

I myself have been single since 2002 and have zero interest in marriage or any long term commitment. I took early retirement and work on my muscle cars restorations, travel, hang out with friends and attend bike rallies and am 100% content and happy with that choice.

When i was younger, yeah. But not now. Friends are MUCH more important than a new potential mate, no matter how much potential. Also, women never prioritized me that way. So it became clear that i was overly invested too soon too often.

In the early stages of dating, I don't think I've ever been "so excited about the girl" to turn down doing things with my guy friends. And I don't think I'm that unusual.

We guys usually balance our dating with hanging out with our friends. This continues through relationship, exclusivity, engagement and marriage.
