For me I became the person with the traits I would love to be with, when I met a person with those traits she loved me for who I was as a result.

So I asked a girl out who I thought had similar attributes and values and it turns out it was a mask and she was physically and verbally abusive

As long as its not a mask on your end just keep looking, look for early signs of them being honest even if it doesn't work in their favor such as disagreeing with you or saying something you are passionate about isn't really their thing.

Basically everything she said she was looking for was a complete lie her real personality showed I was upfront with how good of a person I was I not only provided and took care of her and was by her side when she was sick with Covid and other times she wasn’t feeling well I also supported her homeless sister I let her sister stay in my apartment when I wasn’t living there I also kept the fridge full so she had food to eat
