No matter what it can always mean that the guy is interested, but from my experience it wasn’t really the case. Aside from holding my hand all the time even publicly, this guy would show all signs of interest. Opening my doors, making sure I walked inside the sidewalk, paid our outings, brought me around his friends plus I met his sister a few times. Yet for whatever reason he couldn’t commit.

Yup, exactly. He does the same thing... he carries my bag all the time, cooks and buy stuff for me... he is my very close friend, but i can feel something different.
I hear you, the guy in my situation was initially a friend within a friend group, then we got closer separately, we’d always be together and that’s how it all started. We were friends for nearly 6 years before I had enough of the revolving door and enough going out on a limb and being left standing alone. With the guy you’re interested in, my advice would be to talk to him, and this is just something I wish I did that would’ve spared me a lot of pain, I was just too scared of ruining our relationship. He ultimately saw me as his close friend, which was so hurtful because his actions were so different. This man would spend hours on the phone with me almost every night consistently for years. He would check in every single day, remember everything important. He bought books I loved that I only ever mentioned in passing, same for video games and charms for my bracelets. I truly will never understand how a man can do all that but not want more. Anyway this is not me saying whatsoever he doesn’t like you, just sharing my experience on why I can’t say with certainty if holding your hand means he actually wants to date vs flirting and appreciating you but nothing coming from it.
