Have you ever been proposed and you thought it was a joke?

I've been friends with this guy since I was 21. We talked a lot on and off, he had a great sense of humor and always made me laugh a lot and I often joked with him too, he had a great sense of humor so I started seeing everything he said as a joke. We talked about some deep topics and he supported me a lot after my break up, and then one day he proposed to me and I laughed cause I thought it was a joke. He was upset. He then told me he has dated a lot of women and always compares them to me and believes that we are each other's fate and that we get along great and he even loves it that I am silly at times and a bit childlike, he says I am his muse and he has been hurt a lot when I didn't take him seriously and that by now he'd be gone for a long time, if not my childlike honesty and naivety, which makes him think, I've not done things to hurt him, but rather out of not exactly understanding him.

Awww it's okay you didn't know. Your feelings is totally valid. He should have asked you out first instead of asking you out just flat out like that. I would have thought it was a joke too. Even if I felt like he was serious. I always feel like people should communicate their feelings. And he should have done that with you. But hey he can't be mad at you at all. That's big ignorance on his part.

Yup. I felt bad afterwards, but you know? That guy and I are still good friends and he’s married to a really lovely woman who is much better suited to the life he wanted for himself…

I proposed when I was in a cuck relationship and was told I must be joking if I thought she would marry a guy with a dick my size, I eventually got a hard on whenever she mentioned the incident again, she also brought the subject up with her female friends who all thought it was hilarious, this also got me hard and they all had a good laugh at my small bulge lol,,,
