Personally, if a guy proposed in a flamboyant manner like that it’s not actually romantic in my opinion. He’s just showboating, showing off his money and clout, blah blah blah.
The proposals I’ve received were very sweet, intimate and low-key romantic. (1) by a crackling fire at the end of a great day together; (2) early morning, holding hands as he walked me to work; (3) on an international trip with discreet assistance from the on-flight team. (There was also one rather awkward proposal around graduation, but we’ll attribute that to being too young to really know “which end is up” when it came to romantic expression.) Those are moments to cherish and remember.
(Full disclosure: (1) and the graduation day guy were the same guy… he got way better at it really fast, lol. But he went into acting and I didn’t want to be part of that “world”… the guy never married. (2) I married this guy… he was adorably nervous asking; a full-on charmer back then (he was wretched throughout the marriage, though… hmm). (3) This guy was a true fave, but again, we weren’t meant to tread the same life path.)
The point is to make it memorable but also intimate and personal. (Also… don’t put the girl in the position of having to say NO in public… on a mic or Jumbotron … etc etc etc.)
No this is the kinda proposal that is private and reserved for that couple with no people around
With fireworks? It's too over-the-top. But I don't know. I'm just quieter that way and like very simple intimate style. You're also way younger, which is something to keep in mind. At my age if the guy is still spry enough to get down on one knee and back up again on his own steam we're good. 😂
I saw something similar on the bachelorette. I dont trust drones bt its cute
seems tacky
(It is….)
Really?
Yeah, @Oliverlogan263... See the response to my post, though. It's possibly an age thing, or just different tastes and styles. As the girl I'd also feel oddly pressured.
