Does the Bible really equate slander with the sins you accuse others of?

Do you know the Bible says that when you slander others you become equal to the lies you tell?

The bible says if you slander another person, you deserve to be punished to the same degree as the slanderous remark you made about others, so if you blame an innocent Muslim for a murder he did not commit because 911 was caused by a very small group of radical Muslims, God will punish you as if you murdered someone.
