Story time: I used to work in the military as a paper bitch. One of my tasks is to register your marriage and plug it into the system for benefits and all that.

Well in comes some guy from a South American country that I don't remember. He's filling out his page two (It is part of your service record) and providing documentation for his wife. I do the math and the chick is like 8 years old.

He's not a U. S. Citizen and it's legal for him where he's from. The marriage is from there, so that's that. So this 'individual' gets all the payment privileges of a married person after that. ... even though in my ethnocentric brain, his spouse is the age that one of the children should be.

Morally yes. in my opinion a 17 year old lacks the proper judgement to consent to a relationship romantic and/or sexual with a 22 year old.
