I started college (UK) 2 years later than I should have so half my classmates are 16-17 year olds and others are 17-19. I'm the oldest, by a month and am turning 20 in September.

I have a big crush on a guy who has just turned 17. So by the time I'm 20 he will still be 17. I'm 4"11 and don't even look 19. The age gap isn't big in terms of a bigger outlook and he seems to be mature but is it right to date someone who is 17 when I'm almost 20?

It is a bit weird (to me) because age of consent here is 18, and you’re nearly 20 and he JUST turned 17.


However, if age of consent is 16 there, and he’s 17, I guess it’s fine…

I honestly don't think there is anything wrong with a 17 yr old dating a 20 yr old. There really are no legal consequences to dating an underage girl but there is a problem with it comes to sex.
