We started dating a couple of weeks ago and he is a tattoo artist. He has some different interests but I'm getting used to it. Have you ever dated a tattoo artist? How was it?

Unless he’s aiming for some stereotypes or he has a passion for being different and unexpected then yeah, we wouldn’t actually be able to suggest much than maybe some occasionally risky stuff he’d want you to try or he’d do that could get you concerned.
I don’t think we can exactly come up with a description just from him liking to put pain on the body.
Even traditional artists can’t be pegged unless they’re also following stereotypes and even that is unpredictable. It’s like trying to assume what it’s like to date a girl who wears jewelry and appreciated that, what can we possibly say to it?
Probably stuff mostly associated with their work and then being maybe a workaholic or passionate goof for their work which could upset you or anyone else who wants a certain level of spent and shared quality time together.
He may have a lot of utensils or paper cut outs of designs at home. 🤷♀️ maybe tattoo guns and such. Maybe he drinks any any other habit to possibly forget being sober, normal/average, or so. He either tattoos for various reasons, for passion, or a way of coping. The infliction of self pain. But none of this anyone can be certain of.
That’s why you talk with certain people and see if you’d want to date them and then figure it out for yourself if they’re long term material.
Hope this helps, and best to you!01 Reply

1 yFor me, no.. I mean I love art, nothing wrong with the job and I actually find it unique. But some of my uncles were tattoo artists, and were the most players I've ever seen even they already have a family. Not saying all of tattoo artists are like that, but I just want a peace of mind. 😂

Dating a tattoo artist can be an exciting and enriching experience. Tattoo artists often possess a unique blend of creativity, artistic talent, and attention to detail. They are typically passionate about their craft, which can be inspiring and lead to interesting conversations and experiences. However, their work schedule might include long hours, weekends, and dealing with a diverse clientele, which requires understanding and flexibility. If you appreciate art and value creativity, dating a tattoo artist can be a fulfilling relationship where you both can learn and grow from each other's passions and perspectives.

You sound a bit like a bot. Nothing in all of that about your own human perspective. Shame.

I think don't judge him on his role , judge him as a person , but understand there will be a artistic side , and hopefully he is drug free , these would be the only criteria , just because he likes tatous does not mean he is an idiot , hopefully he has some intellect.

Firstly, it's important to embrace their creativity and passion. Try to get involved in their art, maybe even accompany them to their studio or events..
Be prepared for their irregular hours. Tattoo artists often work late and on weekends. It might take some adjusting, but finding ways to spend quality time together when they’re free can help. Maybe plan some spontaneous late-night dates or weekend breakfasts.
There might be some people who don’t fully understand or appreciate tattoos. Stand by your partner and help break those stereotypes. Sharing the positive and artistic side of their profession with your friends and family can make a big difference. Being there to talk things through, especially when they've had a tough day, can strengthen your bond.
Overall, appreciate the art, be supportive of their schedule and stresses, and enjoy the unique and vibrant experiences that come with dating someone in such a creative field.

1 yI have nothing against it, but tattoo artists usually have a ton of tattoos. I prefer the aesthetic of a few nicely places tattoos to having them all over a body, so I might not be as attracted to a girl like that. If she's compatible with me and doesn't have a ton of them, then I see nothing wrong with it.

1 yThat would be cool! All the ones I’ve met seem super nice and cool, but obviously a career doesn’t define someone’s personality so really depends on the person
