But infatuation eventually wears off and you begin to see them for who they truly are. When you realize that they are not the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, you stop wasting time and move on. It's smart not to waste more time.

It's natural to miss the good times you had with your ex and to feel bad that the relationship didn't work out. But there is no reason to feel guilty. It just is what it is.

It's healthy to continue the search for another partner. That's not a rebound.

It's like an inventor whose initial experiment doesn't work. He doesn't quit. He learns from his mistakes and keeps trying to perfect his invention.

For you to already like someone shows that you are resilient and pursue life with gusto.

I don't know, what do you think that means for you? I am not privy to know from this description what kind of deep or not so deep relationship you had with your ex or even how long you actually dated. Maybe you were with your ex because you thought you needed to be in that relationship but you figured it out, that you needed more and broke up. Maybe you weren't ready for the last one, but now you are with a new one. Maybe you're just a serial dater. So many things.

End of the day, none of this deep analysis matters. Are you happy now? Are you getting there? Then be happy. Good or bad, things have a way of working out the way they're supposed to work out.

just by the sentence alone, i think you've moved on. but i don't have much to go off of

rebound comes off as desperate and are there to keep you less lonely because you just can't survive without a relationship and make it your whole personality and worth, or to make your ex jealous. are you doing those things?

Could mean a number of things.

Sometimes we stay in relationships that were already over and so we've already gone through the stages of grief and are ready for another one right away.

Other times we're just feeling the pain of the loss and jump into something else quickly to try to replace what we had before we are ready.

Unless of course your not fully over the last relationship and just want some company with someone you feel comfortable with to pass the time and go through the healing process with, that's a rebound. If you are over the relationship, and like this person, sounds like your back in the dating game to me.
