Does it mean I never loved him or am I just looking for a rebound?
2.6K opinions shared on Dating topic. In the search for their perfect partner, people get into relationships. They fall into infatuation. That's when you see them through rose colored glasses and project your fantasies onto them. But infatuation eventually wears off and you begin to see them for who they truly are. When you realize that they are not the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, you stop wasting time and move on. It's smart not to waste more time.
It's natural to miss the good times you had with your ex and to feel bad that the relationship didn't work out. But there is no reason to feel guilty. It just is what it is.
It's healthy to continue the search for another partner. That's not a rebound.
It's like an inventor whose initial experiment doesn't work. He doesn't quit. He learns from his mistakes and keeps trying to perfect his invention.
For you to already like someone shows that you are resilient and pursue life with gusto.00 Reply

1 yIt means you have moved on. Your ex and your relationship with him is past history. Best way to get over a breakup is find someone new... congratulations.

Anonymous(36-45)1 yI don't know, what do you think that means for you? I am not privy to know from this description what kind of deep or not so deep relationship you had with your ex or even how long you actually dated. Maybe you were with your ex because you thought you needed to be in that relationship but you figured it out, that you needed more and broke up. Maybe you weren't ready for the last one, but now you are with a new one. Maybe you're just a serial dater. So many things.
End of the day, none of this deep analysis matters. Are you happy now? Are you getting there? Then be happy. Good or bad, things have a way of working out the way they're supposed to work out.00 Reply
1K opinions shared on Dating topic. moving on and rebound are very different
just by the sentence alone, i think you've moved on. but i don't have much to go off of
rebound comes off as desperate and are there to keep you less lonely because you just can't survive without a relationship and make it your whole personality and worth, or to make your ex jealous. are you doing those things?

1 yHere’s the thing: humans are hardwired for connection. It's like we've got this inner GPS constantly recalculating routes to the nearest person who makes our heart skip a beat. You’ve barely tossed the old love letters into a shoebox, and bam, there's someone new, shiny, and intriguing on the horizon. Cue the butterflies in the stomach, right?
Liking someone new right after a breakup doesn’t necessarily mean you’re rebounding. Your brain is like, “Hey, let’s not dwell in the past; there’s a whole future waiting!” But, and here's the kicker, it could also mean you’re seeking comfort in the familiar rush of new love to bandage the wounds from the last one. Your heart is on a pogo stick, bouncing from one crush to the next to avoid touching the ground of reality.
00 ReplyIt means you are resilient. Why waste time and emotions on someone that wasn't right for you?
I just broke up with a guy. It had only been 3 months to be fair. Its taken me two weeks off tears. But I'm totally over him and it now. I'm out looking for my hero guy again.
If the first frog you kissed was just a frog... do you never kiss another? That may turn into your Prince charming? Lol

+1 yLiking/having interest in somone does not equate to loving someone (because knowing someone truly is a long process).
And as I see it, there isn't just one love in the world, but we only have time to truly get to know so many people.10 Reply- 1.2K opinions shared on Dating topic.
+1 yCould mean a number of things.
Sometimes we stay in relationships that were already over and so we've already gone through the stages of grief and are ready for another one right away.
Other times we're just feeling the pain of the loss and jump into something else quickly to try to replace what we had before we are ready.
00 Reply 720 opinions shared on Dating topic. ... People are perfectly capable of being in love with multiple others at the same time. It is only social norms that stop them doing so. This isn't even at the same time, but in immediate succession.
So you're asking what it means? It doesn't mean a damned thing. You liked someone and now you like someone else. That is all there is to it.00 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yUnless of course your not fully over the last relationship and just want some company with someone you feel comfortable with to pass the time and go through the healing process with, that's a rebound. If you are over the relationship, and like this person, sounds like your back in the dating game to me.

1 yIn my experience, by nature women are naturally codependent. You should spend some time alone and when you're content with it, then you'll be ready for a new relationship. Just one old man's opinion.
00 Reply5.8K opinions shared on Dating topic. That should not happen so fast. If it does then it means your love for your ex was never very strong

Anonymous(36-45)1 yYou could have been mentally checked out from the relationship long before the actual break up.. women usually break up mentally before the body follows... which means you were over the relationship along time ago 🤷♀️
