Ladies? Would you date/marry your older brothers best Friend?

I have had a huge crush on my big brothers best friend ever since I was 13. I think he’s an amazing guy!! When I turned 18 we hooked up for 3 months, he was 25. My real question is can it work? We dated on and off for a the past 3 years. He thinks he’s too old for me 😭. And I had a bad reputation in high school, as a; well not someone you would want your mom to meet. I’m trying to fix that. But he and I always seems to come back to each other dispite everything. I don’t think 7 years is to much? Please let me know what you guys think. Thanks

One of the problems you have is that he is not 100% into the relationship. It’s on shaky ground to start with. You need to talk to him to cover reasons why he thinks it could not work, then work out if you can both over come then or change them.

I have been trying to change to be the kind of girl a guy wants to date/marry. Not just be his booty call. I’m not sure if he sees me as a little girl or a slut he only wants to bang. He calls me his girlfriend when we’re together but after a few months he always pulls back 😔

Yeah sounds like he’s conflicted about something. You need to both have an open and frank discussion over it all. Some of it will be him having snapshots in his mind of you from previous times

Sure, why not? Esp if (1) your family already knows and likes him, (2) he’s already very familiar with your family’s values, protective of you and your family etc. Unless he’s not a nice guy for some other reason….


As for trying to “fix” your reputation… keep your legs crossed and stop “hooking up” even with him. All fixed. Sex is supposed to be a meaningful thing.

No drugs or tattoos. The girls I hung out with were into partying and body count I did drink and party, I did get piercings while I was drunk. I also played volleyball and actually was pretty good I played in college and my coach helped me a lot but I still have a bad reputation at home as a slut trying to fix that

I just graduated college as a RN and I start at our local hospital in July. I am just getting my life back on Track. And I want what everyone else wants to find someone special, someone who loves me. I hate who I used too be. She was a cheap slut who would get drunk at high school parties and get used by a bunch of boys. I hate her so bad!!!

It can work under the right intentions. Hookups… that’s generally a red flag.

Look, being with someone that you already know and have a connection with. Generally is a plus. It’s a gamble… Higher the risk better the payout.
