Because if I don't stay myself it means that I lost my way and don't want to improve, while the want to do better has always been part of who I am. If I don't do that, I leave a part of me behind.

In one sentence you say a man must "stay himself" in the next you're talking about how you must improve? Also why do you feel the need to provide your anecdotal experience to this response?

The point is, we look at the same thing differently.
I have always stayed true to myself, do the things I want to do, believed and followed the things I believed in. If the girl doesn't agree, she can find someone else.
I don't see being ambitious as changing who you are, I see it as part of who you are :))

Yes, I never saw being ambitious as changing who I am. It's something I have always been doing. Whenever that day comes where I go against my code is when I stopped being me.

I understand men and women are very different and they can be annoying at times. It's the word "soft" that I'm confused about.
