I haven't got a clue whether they are single or not because I am not going to snoop around asking them. It does not interest me the least to know their marital status.
When I am at the gym, I concentrate only on my program and become totally oblivious to others and what they are doing at the gym.
For a single woman like me, a mixed gym is always an issue with men and that is also the reason I have changed my membership to a women only club, simply to avoid perverts and predators that will attempt to pick up any girls there.
I've been going 4 days a week for 3 years. I'm going to meet people. Girls are going to smile and say hi to me. I'm going to meet guys also. I've learned different ways to work different muscles or isolate certain muscles from both male and female.
It's no different from volleyball or billiards leagues which I also have been a part of. I'm going to meet both female and male people of the same lifestyle.

It's a lifestyle. Billiards players are a lifestyle. Computer programmers are a lifestyle. Drug addicts are a lifestyle.
