it's a phenomenon known as hoeflation

where women on average get their overall looks inflated, sometimes they inflate this themselves through makeup and men on average get their overall looks deflated just by immutable characteristics such as short height. Taylor Lautner and Zac Efron have lost attraction points before just for being short lol

now just look at Ben Shapiro and Brett Cooper

both of them are essentially the same looking but gender swapped. they have the same opinions too yet most people would say Brett is far more attractive than Ben

so when people say there are so many ugly men with beautiful women, that's a lot of horseshit right there. ugly men would be someone like the Elephant Man, beautiful women would be someone like Jessica Alba

now if these couples were running about frequently then yes I can understand people saying ugly men get beautiful women but that's not the case

Disagree. Average men can still be very handsome. There's no reason to be negative about a guy who is simply plain-looking.
Next, personally the only time I've ever referred to a guy as "ugly" is if his attitude or personality are dishonest/deceptive/shady/overly negative/etc.

Usually but that’s because there really aren’t that many ugly people of any gender running around. Most people are average. Which is good, since being ugly is a terrible disability to have.
