my boyfriend and I were chatting on the phone. I am sick and have had a gnarly sinus infection the last few days and whenever I am sick he always advocates for me going to work lol rather than staying home and resting and treats me with contempt. For example, I won't be asking him advice I will say I don't feel good and will say how I have been drinking juice and soup to try to heal and he will offer advice I did not ask for but then will like sound mad and say "I'm just trying to help you" which is weird. Earlier on the phone I had to keep muting myself to blow my nose and I did not for a second, and he immediately stopped talking and paused and I said why did you stop talking and he said "you know why" and insisted I immediately "admit" that I was blowing my nose in the speaker to bother him/interrupt him and said if I did not immediately apologize and admit I did it to be rude or cut him off that he would hang up and block me lmao and then he said "leave me alone for a few days" and then hung up and blocked me. am I missing something or is this not absolutely weird as fuck behavior? This is a day after he insisted I do not give him the benefit of the doubt which I have to a fault lol, yet he could not give it to me and take my word for it when I said I was not trying to be rude I'm just sick and constantly blowing my nose? what would you do? I think the best move is to block and never speak to the loser again but i want insight from others on the situation first.

Wow sis that sounds like super sketchy behavior from your boyfriend! Getting that mad over you blowing your nose is honestly bizarre. And threatening to block you for no real reason is a major red flag.

Seems like he's got some anger issues or something going on under the surface. I mean doing that when you're not even feeling good? That's messed up. You weren't trying to interrupt him on purpose, you're just sick!

And the way he also gets mad when you don't want to go to work sick? Like dude needs to chill. Not everyone has to push through being under the weather.

Honestly if it was me, I'd say peace out to that relationship. You don't need that kind of drama, especially when you're not feeling well. No way should someone treat you like that.

Block him back and let him sort his own problems out. Focus on getting better - you don't deserve to deal with his crappy attitude on top of being sick. His issues are not your problem anymore!

right! he literally ended up blocking me for an entire fucking week lmfao. he tried once to call me last night but that was it. I am pissed as I do not appreciate constantly being discarded as well as everything leading up to it this time, so I did not answer. sad because I have so many good memories with him but he always accuses me of treating him like shit when he is the one doing stuff like this, cyclically. getting mad at me for something. then hanging up and blocking me for weeks at a time. recently, prior to this, I mentioned how he never uses emojis anymore when he used to utilize a ton when speaking to me, and he got pissed, and said how they are emasculating/not masculine and how it's not a thing that guys like to do, and said how he only used them to make me happy (does that not sound manipulative as hell or am i nuts) but it is just odd because he literally used them for years ON HIS OWN in our relationship and now suddenly he feels emasculated by them? wtf? super odd right?

Man, that's just crazy. Blocking you for a whole week over something stupid and then acting like you did something wrong? That's messed up. And what he said about emojis is really weird too. Makes no sense for him to use them for so long and then suddenly claim they're "unmanly" or whatever.

It really seems like this dude has some issues he needs to work out. Taking his anger out on you, blocking you for long periods, accusing you of things you didn't do... that's not how someone treats someone they care about. You don't deserve to be in a relationship where you're walking on eggshells and the other person treats you like crap.

It's sad to lose the good memories, but is he really good for you if he keeps doing stuff like this? Pulling away for weeks at a time only to come back acting like nothing happened? That mess with your head, luv. You can do better than someone who plays games and blows up over tiny stuff. Maybe it's time to move on for good and find someone who treats you with respect. You don't have to put up with being treated like his emotional punching bag.

When we are sick, we definitely don’t mean to come off as rude. But, blocking you is taking it too far. Actually, that’s immature. If he wants to do that, then block him and act like he never existed 🤷‍♀️
