Why do people consider it a red flag if a single parent goes back to the dating pool? Or if they're talking to someone and find out the guy or girl actually has kids they'd immediately lose interest?

It’s only a red flag to the people that do not want to date someone with a kid or kids , , Everyone has their own preferences of what they will accept and not accept , When I was younger , I was against dating girls’ that had kids already , but as I got older , I realized it really didn’t matter to me , as long as she had her shit together and didn’t expect
Me to raise her kid like it was My responsibility. Now that I have kids , and they are older , Most girls’ I meet don’t care that I have kids already , some do and some don’t
No. People make mistakes in their lives. As long as the dude wasn't a man whore (which for some reason women don't seem to care about as much), then he's allowed to date. Everyone deserves a chance to find love and companionship.
However, that doesn't mean that he won't have a lower chance of finding a girl. Obviously he'll be less desired in the dating market as a single dad than a childless single man.
I think it depends on circumstances and situations. Some people have children young and realize they are incompatible with the person they had a kid with. There’s been a select situation I dealt with myself where this guy has a daughter that he doesn’t have custody of because of certain circumstances between him and his baby mother, and for him personally the whole situation has made him emotionally unavailable. As much as I would like to understand it, his emotional unavailability is a huge turn off to say the least
It's a red flag depending on the age of the child and the number of children he's had. If the baby is still a newborn - that's too soon and the couple is still freshly broken up but can get back together at anytime. It's also alarming if the man left the woman while pregnant/after pregnancy. It shows his shit character

It depends on the guy and his situation. Single dads with visitation schedules often hop back into the dating pool. Widowers and other full time single dads have a harder time doing it if they put their children’s care before their personal (romantic/sexual) happiness.
Well, yeah, it's just as much of a red flag as it for a single mom. When I was in my 20s, there is no way I would have even considered a single mom, and I doubt many childless women in their 20s would consider a single dad.
No... I don't think so, as the kid, it was nice to have a stepdad who actually loved and cared for me. I've lived the kid's version of both sides, and it's amazing. I especially love having a real dad who is involved in my life and one that doesn't see me for a whole year then I call him just to make sure he's alright. And having a stepmom is amazing too, I don't get to see her much because my dad doesn't really want to see me much.
It’s a red flag because it could mean they are incapable of staying together with their partner. If a single dad was the one who caused the breakup/divorce with the childs other parent, or even if it was a joint decision, he’s proven that he can not to be trusted and that he has failed to keep his family together. It’s also a red flag because there could be lots of drama involving him and his ex. It’s also a major red flag if he doesn’t take care of his kids at least 50% of the time. If he’s not as involved with his kids or a deadbeat then that shows you clearly what kind of person he is. Basically with a single parent who was the cause of the breakup/divorce you get to see their character and values right away and also get a glimpse into the future and a good idea of how you and your potential kids with him will end up as he’s likely to repeat the cycle with you.
It's not a red flag, but a lot of people aren't gonna be ready to take on the responsibility of being a step-parent, especially in their 20s. I would have a hard time with it personally, since I never intended to have kids of my own, and feel I would not be able to be the kind of stepmother that a child would need to thrive.
It's not wrong for a single parent to try to get back i to the dating pool, but it's also perfectly fine to not want to date a single parent. Kids are a big deal, and most people don't want to date someone who comes with that much baggage. Not wanting to be a step-parent aside, someone with kids can't give you as much attention as you might want. They just don't have the time.
Yes. Because the paint is barely dry on the white picket fence before they're calling it quits on the relationship. Now why would someone, possibly both give up so early? Because he didn't know who she was, she didn't know he was, they jumped headlong into what was supposed to be FOREVER with someone they didn't know because of a few romantic feelings. That's stupidity and cashless at it's finest. Worst of all they f***ed up another human beings life, THE CHILD'S. Now he or she has to go through life with two fractured parents for no fault of his or her own.
Hope this helps.
Anyone who DOESN'T treat a single parent as a red flag is a FOOL.
I think people that talk about red flags all the time are themselves red flags 🚩
I often wonder how single parents do it. I mean, how they manage, to not only take care of a kid, but also get out and date again.
But, kudos to them
Wow. If it’s a red flag then all single mothers are walking red flags
In general there is far less stigma for a single dad than for a single mom. With a single dad it is usually assumed that he fought for the child (ren) and won, or the mom is a criminal or junkie.
Being a single parent means you make poor choices unless your spouse died.
I don't see it as a red flag.
But I wouldn't date a single dad.
A genuinely single parent should focus on the health and well being of the child, NOT their love life.
Not if the divorce wasn’t their fault or their wife died.
I think a single dad is sexy. Has a kid, had a wife? Is single. Who knows the circumstance?
No. For a woman yes but not for a single dad. If he has the custody
Why would that matter, r they to never date ahain?
No I think because people need love
nope
No. Odd question
What red flag?
