A guy I went on a date with said “you’re very very very pretty, classically pretty”.
is that good? Why not beautiful?

Umm I'm not totally sure what he means by "classically pretty" exactly. From context it sounds like a good thing though.
I think "classically pretty" maybe means like a more natural, understated kind of beauty. Like you have really nice, even features and look put together without trying too hard if that makes sense. Like the kinda pretty you could see in old paintings or something.
Whereas "beautiful" sounds more over-the-top glamorous maybe. But really it's kinda splitting hairs cuz both sound like compliments!
I wouldn't read too much into him not using "beautiful" specifically. Saying you're "very very very pretty" definitely sounds like he thinks you're really good looking. Classic beauty is probably just his way of emphasizing you have a elegance to your looks, not just hype looks.
Don't stress it - take the compliment and don't overthink the small wording details. Seems like he likes your appearance from what he said! If the date went well otherwise I wouldn't read into the terms he chose too much.
pretty is a good word, don't be sad because one good word wasn't used over another, a good word is a good word
Why not just take the compliment? If he said you were beautiful, would you then wonder why he didn't call you the most beautiful? Or gorgeous? Or the most gorgeous? Or a knock-out? I think you're nit-picking just a little here. :D
There comes a point where compliments become plain old flattery. I'd appreciate his honesty and his attempt to let you know how he sees you, without going overboard. Saying a girl is "beautiful" becomes white noise after a while, especially for truly beautiful women. I see it as a way of actually trying to make his comment meaningful. Something to consider, anyway.
That's a lovely compliment. Why would you go to is "pretty" good as opposed to "beautiful"? If you were left wondering, why didn't you ask him? I most like would have said to him like: "Well, thank you! Not trying to milk this or anything, but just out of curiosity, how do you translate that? What does
'classically pretty' mean exactly in your booK?"

UUUGH, you’re so into yourself.
Poor guy…
Classically pretty/beautiful is the same s**t. Please at least PRETEND to be humble.
He said you're very pretty, 3 times. Then said you're classicaly pretty which is one of the best types that means you look natural and elegant. Just take the compliment.
it means you're pretty in a conventional natural way
It may be if it means minimal makeup or 1950s era Hollywood glam makeup, fur coat, etc
He said very 3 times?
Yes, he did
This whole question sounds fake.
Pretty means beautiful--same thing
