I suppose it's what you do, and how careful you are.

I have a friend who is "special education." He insists on following this bikini girls or random lewd models or babes with stuff popping out everywhere (who have no friends in common) or friending these "women" hoping that they really do like a total stranger with nothing in common with him.

My friend also assumes that they honestly want to be a girlfriend, or want to date him, and they are perfectly sincere. Then the "women" pull a scam, threaten him, or send him hardcore porn, and he freaks out and follows their demand because now he's terrified they're going to make good on some threat (which is unrealistic).

He HAS been scammed multiple times with threats and fake blackmail.

I have a few women friends who could easily be models. Gorgeous women. But, they are never dressed provocatively. They have boyfriends or husbands... I don't like these women because they're gorgeous. I don't follow or friend them without knowing them. If I had a girlfriend, and she got jealous or "banned" me from being friends, it's a quick way to break up with her.

I DO follow models and singers, again, some of them are gorgeous... I'm in entertainment, so it's a good networking contact. But I also do not cross a professional line with them (Now, if she seemed genuinely interested, and we both are single, and again, we had friends in common... I might ask her out, but I don't cross a line); I'm not writing gross crap on their wall... And I also follow artists and singers and other creative people who are NOT known for their looks for the same reasons. We're friends, they are cool people.

I have also followed or friended "booth babes" on occasion (but again, there's a level of professionalism... and I am friends with them because they're great at costuming or prosthetic makeup, or they like the same things (and I keep it to that)), or they're artists who have some cool STYLE - so it's an interesting person who happens to be gorgeous. Most of their photos aren't even of them... it's their work. If it was JUST because they were gorgeous, then I think any girlfriend would kind of have a point if they told me it was a problem for them.

If you're single, and you're not being a pervert with them... and you ARE friends... do what you want. If you're only casual friends, have no friends in common, and are married... and are liking them because they're models... that's a bit different. Just... be careful. Be careful with the information you give, be careful with what you say to them, or if/how you flirt or hit on them... That's about the only advice I can give. Good luck.

Eh I don't know man, following girls you used to know just because they're pretty could come across the wrong way. Are you actually interested in being friends with them again or catching up, or are you mostly just doing it cuz you think they're attractive? Girls can usually tell the difference.

It might be better to focus your energy on girls who actually seem interested in talking to you too, not just ones you think are hot. That way it doesn't seem like you're just hitting them up for their looks. And don't get your hopes up too much if they haven't talked to you in a while - they might have moved on and be over that friendship already.

I'd say only follow/message them again if there was actually something you wanted to catch up about. Otherwise it could accidentally come off as creepy or like you're just trying to hit on them out of nowhere. Play it chill and respect their space if they're not giving signs they wanna talk. girls find confidence attractive, not desperation.
