Like the picture shown. Exactly like that. You put your hand on your laps, and he put his hand on top of yours

My friend tonight you've done a lot of weird fun crazy things and there's many times where I will grab the person's hand whoever I'm with because we either have to move fast or I just want to pull them over closer to me because whatever it is we're doing but yeah I'll hold hands and I do10 Reply

From a Male pov to a Female? No! Not on these days... that will be seen as "sexualised" innapropriate, inciting sexually, so i guess the Good Old Days, when you could show this kind of "carring" "i'm here for you" "everything will be alright" are Gone! 🤷♂️🤦♂️

On my mom's funeral my husband and my best friend (male) held my hands like that... they didn't moved my hands from my lap, just held them as they were...
it depends on the situation... and there are situations, where physical connection with people closest to you is necessary...

Yeah, when he is trying to comforting you, that make sense. Even then, hugging would be normal too..
But if out of nowhere, ermm..

I have to say it depends.
I prefer female friends who are >10 years older than me; there's no chance any romance will develop. So holding her hand like that, or her holding mine, would be strange.
With a female slightly younger than me or same age... no romance involved what-so-ever; not strange10 Reply 6.9K opinions shared on Dating topic. i have had female friends that I use to hold hands with.

Always? But why tho
- 1 mo
Nope. That's something that I would to someone I think of romantically only. I would not do that to my friends that are girls and I DEFINITELY wouldn't do it to my guy friend 😂

I usually do if we are at The Fair or an amusement park so we do not get separated.

Thats cute tbh hahaha

I find that strange. Would you hold a guy friend's hand? If not, why do it with a girl unless you're trying to be more than friends?
- 1 mo
Sure. Holding hands isn’t necessarily a romantic gesture. Can be a gesture of friendship.

Is it a wake? Horror movies? Rough neighborhood? Without context its meaningless
03 Reply- Asker1 mo
No. Just on a casual setting.. like you guys are sitting at reataurant, or maybe in the car, or maybe in the park. Then just suddenly reach out like that

Make it special for your girlfriend?
- 1 mo
If that's called special then I would hate to see what normal is.
Bland relationship and half that would be.
I don't think unless any girl rationally would find me one who don't show that I'm clearly obsessed with her if she's my girlfriend compared to a friend to even question such a thing. - Asker1 mo
Good point. Then, apart from sex, what makes it diff between friends and girlfriend in terms of phyisical ‘intimacy’
- 1 mo
Friends is casual, your partner it is not. With a friend I may not notice a light flirt, or you know holding hands like this.
But with a partner it's intended and heavily leaned into, brought attention to and made important because of that.
The difference is always intention. Which the difference is always clear really, unless you have a real problem telling emotions and expressions you should know right away.
