I have a friend I'll call Tim. We are language penpals (he is learning English and I'm learning Japanese, so we exchange mixed English /Japanese letters and messages. We are not boyfriend/girlfriend, but he sometimes acts as if he is my boyfriend. Messages nearly everyday, notifies me where he is and where he's going on something called Line (like WhatsUp) and writes often on the website we met at. sends me pictures of when he travels back and forth on the Shinkansen (Bullet trains). So we both communicate around every two days at least. I've met him twice in April and will see him again in October. He seems nice, but I have no idea if he wants to pursue a "relationship" and I think that he wants to know if "I" want to, but is afraid of what I will say.
The following are some of the questions/exercises he has asked me to answer in Japanese, take them as you may. I have answered them in Japanese in my responses to him. Do they sound suspicious, is my question.
1. (written in Japanese). Do you have any other friends on "________". (the name of the website). He asked me this twice on two separate occasions. 2. Do you have any other friends in Ohio? 3. Do you have any friends that speak Spanish with in Ohio? 4. Do you stay in touch with any school friends? 5. What time do you go to bed? (sometimes I don't answer his text messages right away at night? 6. Is your Japanese teacher (I take lessons) male or female? 7. Do you go to church? He recently told me he is "meeting a Scottish woman" to have a drink. He has many visitors from other countries but this is the first time he mentioned seeing a lady.
